Sponsor a Dog

Will you help us to ensure that we can continue to treat the many street dogs in need across Kathmandu?

KAT Centre cares for thousands of street dogs every year and some require more attention and care than others. Some, due to their age or injuries, end up requiring months of care and never become well enough to be released. With low rates of adoption for dogs like these, they often face the prospect of having to live out the rest of their lives within the shelter of KAT Centre.

Your generous gift of sponsorship provides us with the means to continue caring for disabled or unwanted dogs for as long as they need. Sponsoring a dog won’t change the world, but for the animals that rely on us, their world will change for the better.

When you become an official sponsor, you will receive regular updates and behind the scenes information about the day to day life of animals at KAT Centre. There is no long term obligation and you are free to cancel at any time.

Sponsor a Cat

KAT rescues all animals which need our help, including stray cats. In Kathmandu there is an estimated population of over 5,000. Nepal has a long history of believing cats (especially back cats) are witches, so cats in Nepal end up having a very hard life and are persecuted because of this superstition. We at KAT have run education programs over the last 5 years trying to dispel this myth and promote cat-welfare across Nepal.

Most of the rescued cats and kittens which come to KAT are very sick or injured and as a result many can not be released again. KAT has plans to work more and more on creating a healthy stray cat population free from illness and cruelty, and last year we took the huge step of building the first Cat Hospital in Nepal.

We plan to expand our work with stray cats, but to do this we need your help. Through your generous gift of sponsorship, we will be able to continue caring for disabled or unwanted cats for as long as they need and increase the number of cats we can rescue and rehabilitate. Sponsoring a cat won’t change the world, but for that animal, their world will change for the better.
