How far your money goes
Help vaccinate a street/community dog We give an anti-rabies vaccination to every dog and cat passing through our sterilization and rescue program. In Nepal, more than 200 people die of rabies cases each year. Rabies vaccines are not expensive – for every US$ 20 donated, we can vaccinate 20 animals! Sterilization of one dog Our inclusive cost of US$ 20 to sterilize and vaccinate one female street / community dog includes land rent, medicines and surgical supplies, food for dogs, utilities, bedding clothing for dogs, staff salary costs etc. The dog is housed at the centre for 3-4 days. Rescue & Treatment KAT also conducts rescue services for dogs of both sexes that are sick or injured. Common problems include skin infections and injuries from car accidents. Rescued dogs are also sterilized and given rabies vaccinations before they are returned to where they were picked up. Help us in our mission to create a healthy, stable population of street dogs in Kathmandu, and to reduce to risk of rabies to local people. Become a member NOW by filling out the Membership form. If you have any spare veterinary equipment or other suplies, please contact Chris at Chris@turnleebarn.co.uk as it may be possible to transport these to Kathmandu. |
